Craig Metz – Business Manager of IUOE Local 478 – is working in conjunction with a number of other unions and the AFL-CIO to host three events over the summer.
These events have been created as a platform that will enable unions to energize their membership, while conveying a strong message to elected officials that the number one priority of Connecticut workers is the creation of jobs through long term investment by the State of Connecticut.
To that end, the three summer outings will be held on the third Thursday in June, July and August. The evening events are free to attend and will include a barbecue, cold beer and soda. This is a family event and spouses, significant others and children are welcome.
Visits from a number of state and congressional officials who will address job creation and workforce expansion are expected. A number of town committee members and pro-job groups will also be joining us.
All Boilermakers Local 237 members should consider this notification as a personal invitation to attend!
The events will be held at the Local 478 Hall in Hamden beginning at 4:30 (til dark) on Thursday, June 19, Thursday, July 17 and Thursday, August 21.
We are looking forward to supporting this important effort and look forward to seeing our members throughout the summer.
