Boilermakers Local Lodge No. 237 is proud to announce that Michael Toth was recently named the winner of the 2009 Northeast Area Apprentice of the Year Contest.

As a result of being the top scoring candidate, Apprentice Toth was the recipient of the coveted John J Harrington Apprentice of the Year award, a beautiful hand-crafted bronze eagle sculpture and $1,000. In addition, he will represent the Northeast Area at the annual Boilermakers National Apprenticeship Program Apprentice of the Year Contest in Kansas City, KS in late September.

Michael will be teamed at the National Competition with runner-up Eric Buskey – a highly-skilled Apprentice from Boilermakers Local Lodge No. 5, Zone 197 in Albany, NY.

Notably, Michael is the first Apprentice to accomplish this feat since current Business Manager Anthony DeFrancesco Jr. won the Area’s top prize in 1988. Furthermore, Tony went on the take the National title as well.

Please join us in wishing Michael well as he proudly represents our Local Lodge at the National event.
